The Explore & Apply for Availability page helps schools search, filter, explore, bookmark, and request placement opportunities shared by sites across Exxat One.
You can:
- Search opportunities using filters and keywords
- Explore opportunities using Map View or List View
- View detailed availability information
- Bookmark opportunities for later review
- Request slots for individual or group availabilities
- Track request progress and previous requests

You can access the Explore & Apply for Availability page by:
- Clicking Explore All on the Map from the homepage
- Using the homepage search section to search by:
- Location
- Site
- Date Range

Accessing the Explore & Apply for Availability Page
You can access this page by:
- Clicking Explore All on Map from the homepage
- Using the homepage search section to search by:
- Location
- Site
- Date Range
- Discipline & Specialisation
After clicking Search, you will be redirected to the Explore & Apply for Availability page with the selected filters applied.
Switching Between Map View and List View
The page allows you to toggle between:
- Map View
- List View
Use the toggle option available in the upper-right corner of the page to switch between views.
Both views support the same:
- Search functionality
- Filters
- Availability details access
Using Search and Filters
The page provides multiple search and filtering options to help narrow down opportunities.
Search
Use the search bar to search by:
- Location and Address
- Availability ID
- Availability Name

Discipline & Specialisation Filter
Use this filter to search opportunities based on:
- Discipline
- Associated specialisation
You can select one or more disciplines and specialisation combinations to narrow results.
Site Filter
Use the Site filter to search opportunities from specific sites or healthcare organisations.
State Filter
Use the State filter to search opportunities available within a selected state.
| Note: The State filter is a single-select filter. |
Start & End Date Filter
Use this filter to search opportunities available within a selected date range.
| Note: Additional filters are available under the Add Filter option. Click Add Filter and select the filters you want to apply. Next to it, you can also use the Reset Filters option to clear all applied filters. |
Experience Type Filter
Use this filter to search opportunities based on experience type:
- Group
- Individual
Programs Filter
Use the Programs filter to search opportunities associated with specific program types, including:
- Associate
- Bachelor’s
- Certificate
- Doctorate
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Master’s
- Paramedic
- Post-Licensure
- Pre-Licensure
Due Date Filter
Use this filter to search opportunities based on the request due date.
Published Date Filter
Use this filter to search opportunities based on the availability published date.
Reset Filters
Use the reset option to clear applied filters and return to the default search view.
Using the Nearby Search Option
The Nearby option allows you to search for opportunities:
- Near your school
- By zip code
Search Near Your School
Select Nearby School and enter the distance in miles to search opportunities within the selected radius from your school.
Search by Zip Code
Select Availability in Selected Zip Code and enter a zip code to view opportunities available within that zip code area.
Use the Clear All option to remove nearby search and zipcode selections and reset the nearby filter options.
Using Map View
Map View helps visually explore availability opportunities across the States.
The map is interactive and supports:
- Zooming in and out
- Dragging and moving across locations
- Exploring availability clusters
- Viewing location-specific opportunities
Search results and availability listings update dynamically based on:
- Map movement
- Zoom level
- Applied filters
- Selected search criteria
Use the zoom controls available on the map or your mouse to zoom in or out.
Using the View All Option
Use the View All option to return to the full opportunities view across the States.
This is helpful after zooming into a specific region or filtered location.
Using Location Pins on the Map
Availability opportunities are also displayed as location pins on the map.
When you click a location pin:
- A summary window opens
- Key availability information is displayed
- You can select View Details to open the Availability Details page
The summary window may display:
- Site name
- Availability name
- Date range
- Location details
- Discipline and specialisation information
- Availability indicators
Understanding Availability Cards
Availability opportunities are displayed as availability cards in Map View.
Each card may display:
- Site name
- Availability name
- Date range
- Location details
- Discipline and specialisation information
- Payment Required indicator
- Overdue indicator
- Program Partner indicator
- Individual or Group availability type
- Applied status
- Bookmark option
Bookmarking Opportunities
Use the bookmark option available on availability cards and list results to save opportunities for later review.
Bookmarked opportunities can be viewed under the Bookmarked section.
Using List View
List View displays availability opportunities in a detailed list format without the map.
The view includes:
- Availability information displayed in rows
- Bookmark options
- Pagination controls
- Items per page selection
The same information displayed in availability cards is available in List View.
Search and filters work the same way in both Map View and List View.
Opening Availability Details Page
You can open the Availability Details page by:
- Clicking an availability card
- Selecting View Details from a location pin
- Opening an availability from List View
All methods open the same Availability Details panel.
Understanding the Availability Details Page
The Availability Details page provides a complete overview of the selected opportunity and serves as the central place for reviewing availability information, tracking request activity, bookmarking opportunities, and submitting slot requests.
At the top of the page, you can view key availability information, including:
- Site name
- Availability name
- Availability duration
- Associated disciplines and specialisations
- Bookmark option
- Request Slots option
- Last requested date
You may also see indicators such as:
- Payment Required
- Partner Program
- Individual Availability or Group Availability
- Applied status
If requests have already been submitted for the availability, the page may display:
My Requests
The My Requests section provides a summary of your request activity for the selected availability.
This section may display:
- Total request count
- Approved requests
- Declined requests
- Requests in review
- Pending requests
A visual request status bar may also appear to help quickly identify request progress and outcomes.
- Previous Requests
The Previous Requests section displays previously submitted requests for the availability.
Each request entry may include:
- Request date
- Requested duration
- Number of requested slots
- Request status
Statuses may include:
- Approved
- Declined
- Request Pending
- Review Pending
You can also select Show More to view additional request history.
Availability Information Tabs
The page is organised into multiple tabs that provide detailed information about the opportunity.
Depending on the availability configuration, tabs may include:
- Duration & Shift
- Discipline & Specialisation
- Location Details
- Program Overview
- Availability Description
Duration & Shift
The Duration & Shift section displays scheduling-related information for the opportunity, including:
- Availability duration
- Due date
- Shift timing
- Days of the week associated with the shift
Discipline & Specialization
This section displays:
- Associated disciplines
- Related specializations
- Speciality tags linked to the availability
If additional disciplines or specialisations are available, select Show More to open the complete list in a separate side panel.
Location Details
The Location Details section displays the site location associated with the availability, including:
- Site location name
- Address details
Program Overview
The Program Overview section provides academic and program-related information associated with the opportunity.
Depending on the availability setup, this section may display:
- Program types
- Student year requirements
- Additional academic details
Availability Description
The Availability Description section may include:
- Availability details
- Eligibility criteria
- Onboarding requirements
- Site instructions
- Additional notes or descriptions shared by the site
Requesting Slots
To request slots for an availability, open the Availability Details page and select Request Slots.
The Slot Request drawer opens from the right side of the screen, allowing you to review the availability details, configure request information, add student or instructor details, and submit the request to the site.
Request Header Information
At the top of the request panel, you can view a summary of the selected availability, including:
- Site name
- Availability name
- Date range
- Location
- Shift information
- Days of the week associated with the shift
You may also see indicators such as:
- Payment Required
- Partner Program
- Individual Availability or Group Availability
- Maximum Group Size (for group availabilities)
Completing Request Details
The Request Details section allows you to configure the slot request.
Discipline
Select the discipline associated with the request.
The available disciplines are based on the selected availability.
Specialisation
After selecting a discipline, you can select one or more specialisations associated with that discipline.
Specialisations are dependent on the selected discipline. Until a discipline is selected, the specialisation field remains unavailable.
For each selected discipline, you must select at least one associated specialisation.
You can:
- Select individual specialisations
- Use Select All to select all available specialisations
- Use Clear All to remove selected specialisations
Program Type
Select the applicable program type for the request.
Program Types are dynamically populated based on the selected discipline. Only program types associated with the selected discipline are displayed.
Graduation Date
Select the expected graduation date for the student group associated with the request.
Rotation Details
Select the required rotation for the request.
For PRISM-integrated schools, rotation details may automatically populate from PRISM.
If the required rotation is not available in the list:
- Select Add New.
- Enter the rotation details manually.
- Save the new rotation entry.
Manually added rotation details are not synced back to PRISM.
Course Details
Select the associated course details for the request.
If the required course information is unavailable, you can add it manually using the Add New option.
Start Date and End Date
Enter the requested:
- Start Date
- End Date
The requested dates should align with the site's availability duration.
| Note: If the selected dates fall outside the site's availability range, a warning message may appear indicating that the site may not be able to accommodate the request. |
Number of Requested Slots
In the How many slots do you want to request? field, enter the total number of slots required.
The number entered here controls how many student entries can be added later in the request workflow.
For example:
- If you request 4 slots, you can add details for up to 4 students.
- If you request 2 slots, you can only add details for 2 students.
Including Student Details
To include student information with the request:
- Enable the Do you want to include student details with this request? toggle.
- The Student Details section appears below.
The section displays:
- Total requested slots
- Number of slots currently assigned to students
- Student assignment status for each slot
Example:

0/4 Slots with Studentsindicates that no students have been assigned yet. -
4/4 Slots with Studentsindicates that all requested slots have assigned students.
Adding Students
Select Add Student or Add/Edit Student to manage student information.
You can:
- Select students from PRISM
- Add students manually
Adding PRISM Students:
For PRISM-integrated schools:
-
Select PRISM Student.
- Choose the required student from the PRISM list.
The following details automatically populate:
- First Name
- Last Name
Student details synced from PRISM cannot be edited manually within the request panel.
Adding Students Manually:
If the required student is unavailable in PRISM:
-
Select Add Student Manually.
- Enter the student details manually.
You can enter:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Profile Link
You can also remove added students using the delete option available beside the student entry.
Student Assignment Table
After students are added, the Student Details table displays:
- Slot number
- Student name
- Profile link
The table updates automatically as students are assigned to slots.
Clinical Instructor Details (Group Availabilities)
For Group Availabilities, an additional Clinical Instructor Details section is available.
This section allows you to add clinical instructor information associated with the group request.
Adding Clinical Instructors:
Select Add Instructor or Add/Edit Instructor to add instructor information.
You can:
- Select instructors from PRISM
- Add instructors manually
Adding PRISM Clinical Instructors:
For PRISM-integrated schools:
- Select PRISM Clinical Instructor.
- Choose the instructor from the PRISM list.
Instructor details automatically populate from PRISM.
PRISM-populated instructor details cannot be edited manually within the request panel.
Adding Clinical Instructors Manually:
If the instructor is unavailable in PRISM:
- Select Add Instructor Manually.
- Enter the instructor's details manually.
You can enter:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Contact Number
You can also remove instructor entries using the delete option available beside the instructor record.
Contacting the Site
The Contact Site section allows you to send an optional message to the site along with the request.
You can use this section to:
- Share additional information
- Clarify request details
- Communicate special instructions or scheduling notes
Submitting the Request
After completing the required fields, you can submit the request using one of the following options:
- Request Now — Submits the request without sending a message
- Request and Send Message — Submits the request along with the message entered in the Contact Site section
Once submitted, the request is sent to the site for review.
Additional Request Information
Some opportunities may require additional information, such as:
- Semester
- Rotation Number
- Number of Hours
- Shift Details
- Unit Information
- Days of the Week
- Preceptor Details
Complete all required fields before submitting the request.
