What’s New in This Release

This release gives schools greater visibility and flexibility in managing complex placements. Schools can now work with Multi-Location Scheduling, Schedule Blocks, and Non-Consecutive Dates (NCD) across requests, calendars, search and filtering, notifications, reports, onboarding, and activities. These updates provide a clearer view of where and when students are scheduled, while maintaining existing workflows and notification behaviour.

Multi-Location and Schedule Blocks

Exxat One now supports Multi-Location placements, allowing sites to associate multiple locations with a schedule instead of being limited to a single Primary Location. Sites can designate a Primary Location and add one or more Additional Locations to reflect all the locations involved in a placement. Schools have full visibility into these locations across relevant placement details, making it easier to understand where each placement will take place.

• View Primary and Additional Locations together in the relevant schedule and approved request details. 
• Location hierarchy is retained for Additional Locations, allowing schools to understand the associated departments or units within each location when available.
• When a site adds or updates Additional Locations during the placement process, those details are available for schools to view. 

Schedule Blocks are a new way to divide a placement into distinct scheduling segments when different parts of the same placement have different details. Each block can have its own dates, location, days, shift, timing, and other scheduling information, giving schools a clearer view of how the placement is structured.

• View the Schedule Blocks configured by the site in List View or Calendar View. 
• Each block can show its applicable dates, location, preceptor, shift, and other scheduling details. 
• For group schedules, schools can see a “Members” field for each Schedule Block, showing whether the block applies to all group members or only to specific students in the group.
• Schedule Blocks are available as read-only information for schools, so the school can clearly understand how the site has structured the placement. 

This gives schools a clearer picture of placements that span multiple locations or have different rotation periods, without requiring separate schedules for each part of the placement.

Non-Consecutive Dates for Slot Requests

Schools can now request placements for specific, non-consecutive attendance dates within an overall requested placement duration, providing greater flexibility for placements that do not follow a continuous or recurring schedule.

• Enable Request for Non-Consecutive Dates when creating a slot request and select the exact dates the student needs to attend. 
• The Requested Start Date and Requested End Date define the overall date range within which non-consecutive dates can be selected. 
• Selected dates must fall within the requested duration and are automatically removed if the duration is updated. 
• Non-Consecutive Dates and Days of Week are mutually exclusive; enabling Non-Consecutive Dates clears and disables Days of Week. 
• Add, remove, or modify non-consecutive dates when editing a pending slot request. 
• For requests and schedules with non-consecutive dates, the Days of Week column displays a Non-Consecutive Days indicator, with the complete list of dates available on hover. 
• Non-consecutive dates are also available in request and schedule details, read-only views, and exports. 

This gives schools greater flexibility to request and manage placements based on specific attendance dates rather than a continuous or recurring schedule.

Multi-Location: Impact on Onboarding Requirements and Activities

Onboarding requirements and student activities are now generated based on all locations associated with a placement, ensuring students receive everything applicable across their full placement.

• Location-specific onboarding requirements are generated based on all associated locations. 
• Students receive all applicable requirements across locations without needing separate schedules. 
• Duplicate requirements are generated only once when the same requirement applies to multiple locations. 
• Requirements and activities are updated through the existing regeneration process when schedule locations change. 
• Existing compliance tracking, completion, approval, reminders, dashboards, and reporting continue to work as they do today. 

This gives schools a more complete view of the requirements students need to complete across all locations involved in their placement.

Multi-Location: Impact on Search and Filtering

Schools can also search and filter schedules using Additional Locations, giving them visibility into the full location context of a placement.

• Search by Location now considers both the Primary and Additional Locations associated with a schedule. 
• Location filters return schedules when the selected location is either the Primary or an Additional Location. 
• Location Group filters also consider all locations associated with the schedule. 
• Preceptor Search continues to work while accommodating the expanded schedule structure. 
• The enhanced search and filtering behaviour is available across the relevant schedule views used by Schools. 

This makes it easier for Schools to locate schedules even when the placement includes multiple locations.

Multi-Location: Impact on Notifications

Existing schedule notifications now provide complete location information for schedules with multiple locations.

• Key schedule emails, such as Schedule Confirmation and Invitation emails sent to students and CIs, now display the Primary Location and all Additional Locations, with the Primary Location listed first.
• Changes to Schedule Blocks use the existing Schedule Updated notification, so applicable School users continue to receive updates without introducing a new notification type. 
• Existing notification settings and opt-in/opt-out preferences continue to apply. 

This keeps Schools informed of meaningful changes to schedules while maintaining the existing notification experience.

Multi-Location and Schedule Block Support in Schedule Calendar

The Schedule Calendar has been upgraded to provide a clearer, more comprehensive view of group schedules, multi-location placements, and Schedule Blocks.

• Group schedules now appear as a single cluster card that brings together group members, including students and instructors, along with other group details such as location and shift. 
• Existing search and filters continue to work at the individual student-schedule level. When a student schedule matches the selected criteria, the corresponding group cluster card is displayed. 
• For schedules with Additional Locations, all associated locations are displayed on the calendar, and users can search or filter schedules by any of those locations. The Primary Location remains distinguished from Additional Locations. 
• For schedules with Schedule Blocks, the calendar displays the schedule based on each block's specific details. A separate card is shown for each block, with the Block Name displayed as a label and the card positioned according to that block's dates, timing, location, days, and other applicable details. 
• Each block-level card displays only the details applicable to that specific block, providing a clear view of how the placement is scheduled. 
• Summary numbers and statistics continue to be calculated at the schedule level, rather than separately for each Schedule Block. 
• Onboarding status can now be opened directly from the Calendar view, with an option to open the corresponding Onboarding view in a new browser tab.

This upgrade gives users a more accurate calendar view while making group schedules, multiple locations, and block-level scheduling easier to understand and manage.

Multi-Location Support in Reports

Reports now provide clearer and more accurate location information for schedules associated with multiple locations, while keeping existing reporting workflows and calculations intact.

• Location search and filtering now accurately return schedules associated with the selected locations and work correctly with other report filters. 
• The Schedule-Level Summary report now displays a Schedule Blocks label wherever schedule blocks are present. 
• Non-Consecutive Dates are identified in the Schedule-Level Summary and Comprehensive Request reports, with the applicable dates available on hover. 
• The Site-level Engagement Report now includes both primary and additional locations when calculating the Locations Requested/Engaged With value. 
• Single-location schedules continue to follow the existing reporting behaviour. 

This enhancement helps schools search and filter reports more accurately while providing clearer visibility into schedules and location-based engagement.

Multi-Location Support in Activities Dashboard

The Activities Dashboard now presents location and schedule information in a more concise and consistent format, making it easier to understand the context of recent activities.

• Schedule-related activities display the primary location first, with additional locations shown using the +N more format. 
• Hovering over +N more displays the complete location hierarchy in the correct order. 
• Non-schedule activities retain their existing location display, with the complete location hierarchy available in a tooltip. 
• Group or Individual is now displayed at the beginning of schedule-related activity descriptions instead of as a bracketed suffix. 

This enhancement keeps Recent Activities clean and readable while providing access to complete location and schedule information when needed.
